My biggest takeaway I had was the feeling of safety, of being with people where there was no judgment, just empathy and support, which is something I haven’t experienced much in my life. The freedom to just be me. I’ll admit I didn’t open up much, at least on the outside, still working on the ability to do that after so many years of NOT feeling safe, but there was definitely the beginnings of a change, a softening, inside.
